Details

We are responsible for managing the balance sheet of ING NL by hedging Interest Rate and Liquidity risks in close cooperation with Group Treasury. The team maintains close relations with business stakeholders, advises on product and pricing changes, and monitors macro-economic trends and consequences. The team uses state-of-the-art risk and client behaviour modelling methods and technologies to explore, analyse, and leverage data. Current initiatives include a full migration to the target Asset & Liability Management risk system (QRM) and implementation of a strategic data roadmap.

Team

The department consists of an energetic team of approximately 30 highly qualified international professionals. The team works in an Agile way and empowers members to take responsibility and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Excel-, SQL- or Power BI-based risk reports based on the target risk system and underlying data to enable migration from the legacy system.
  • Participate in behavioural modelling activities and contribute to data processing, risk analysis and impact assessment.
  • Support migration and implementation tasks related to the target Asset & Liability Management system (QRM).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and the Group Treasury on hedging and balance sheet management topics.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a Dutch university Master (MSc) student in Econometrics, Economics or another finance/quantitative degree (mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university during the internship; EU-university acceptable for EU passport holders).
  • Available for at least 6 months.
  • Self-starter, result-driven, flexible and hands-on attitude.
  • Keen interest in Financial Markets, financial instruments and Market Risk.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Good IT skills: Python, SQL, VBA.
  • Experience with Excel and Power BI is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
