Team

FM eServices is a specialized team within ING Financial Markets, dedicated to enabling seamless access to trading venues, exchanges, clearing houses, and post-trade infrastructure. Operating at the intersection of market connectivity, regulatory compliance, and process innovation, eServices plays a pivotal role in supporting ING’s global trading activities. The team combines deep domain expertise with agile delivery to manage onboarding, change initiatives, and operational workflows across financial market infrastructures. By driving efficiency, governance, and strategic alignment, FM eServices ensures that ING remains responsive to evolving market demands and regulatory landscapes.

Role description

We offer a unique internship for an analytically strong MSc student to support the development of our Strategic Business Risk Management agenda and the enhancement of Front Office Supervision within Financial Markets. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, business risk management, and electronic trading oversight, giving you direct exposure to senior stakeholders and insight into how supervisory frameworks are designed and implemented.

You will work closely with the eServices Lead for Electronic Markets & Front Office Supervision on initiatives shaping next generation first-line supervision and front-office accountability. An ideal fit for students from strategy-focused programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design of the Strategic Business Risk Management operating model, including responsibilities, workflows, and interaction models with other functions
  • Support activities in our strategic development plan for Front Office Supervision
  • Conduct comparative analyses of supervision models across industry peers, regulatory expectations, and global governance frameworks
  • Support the implementation of the first-line supervision model for electronic and voice trading
  • Assist with strengthening oversight of algorithmic trading
  • Help develop risk indicators, alerts, and supervisory dashboards
  • Support senior stakeholders by preparing presentations, steering materials, and strategic documents
  • Contribute to drafting new procedures and supervisory guidance documents

Requirements

  • Applicants must be registered as a student with an educational institution for the entire duration of the internship (MSc student preferred)
  • Note: to do an internship at ING, you must be either an EU national or a non-EU national enrolled in an educational institution in the Netherlands
