IT Engineer - Secure Configuration

As an IT Engineer specializing in secure configuration, you perform secure configuration checks and subsequent risk assessments on system assets of ABN AMRO. Your expertise extends to DevOps practices, where you create, run, and configure automated checks to streamline security processes. Your knowledge and experience contribute to improving the overall security posture of the bank by helping development teams integrate security by design in their day-to-day work and by ensuring compliance with applicable ABN AMRO policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Help teams with secure configuration assessments on ABN AMRO’s system assets.
• Work as part of the Security Assurance team and perform regularly scheduled checks to support compliance and assist with the triage of new deviations.
• Report on findings and perform risk assessments.
• Create, run, and configure automated secure configuration checks as part of DevOps practices.
• Stay informed on the latest developments in technology and threats and actively share knowledge with colleagues.
• Help solve security-related questions, take initiative, and escalate when needed.
• Signal improvements related to ways of working and contribute to improving maturity and coverage of service offerings.

Working environment

• You will be part of the internal Security Assurance team within the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) of ABN AMRO in the Netherlands.
• The team works in an informal, agile way focusing on speed, productivity, agility and innovation, collaborating across the bank.
• You will automate repetitive tasks to enable the team to focus on strategic initiatives and continuously seek ways to enhance efficiency.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required for effective communication across departments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential; willingness to learn and experiment is encouraged.

Requirements

Required skills:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the Information Security domain.
• Experience working with Tenable products (examples listed: Tenable.io, Tenable ONE, Tenable Security Center or Nessus).
• Strong knowledge of security best practices, standards and frameworks (examples: NIST, CIS).
• A good understanding of system architectures and design principles.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of containers and related technologies (example: Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and related technologies.
• Relevant certifications (for example CISSP, cloud security certifications).
• Exposure to banking or an equivalent highly controlled technology environment.
• Fluency in Dutch (verbal and written) is a plus.
