ING Hubs Poland is hiring an Oracle Database expert to work within the Oracle Expert Team (WB Tech). The role focuses on designing, implementing, managing and optimizing Oracle-based systems that support critical banking systems, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability, performance and collaboration with Agile squads.
The expected salary for this position: 13 000 - 25 000 PLN gross (as stated in the announcement).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
- Lead the design and implementation of database configurations.
- Drive automation initiatives using modern scripting and programming techniques.
- Manage and expand robust database solutions that power ING's databases.
- Ensure database security and performance of critical banking systems.
- Pioneer innovative solutions for complex database challenges.
- Identify and mitigate risks to minimize incidents and outages and enhance customer experience.
- Advise squads on efficient resource usage, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.
- Assist squads with performance optimization and SQL tuning.
- Organize knowledge-sharing and awareness sessions for Oracle consumers across the company.
- Conduct reliability interviews with Asset Owners to enhance database reliability.
- Lead and coordinate strategic projects, collaborating with other IT teams as needed.
- Provide senior-level expertise, sharing knowledge and best practices with the ING Oracle community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 6–8 years of relevant work experience in a complex IT environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle Database architecture, performance tuning and data management (OCP/OCM experience or equivalent).
- Experience with Oracle Exadata and Multitenant Architecture.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues promptly.
- Experience with capacity planning.
- PL/SQL knowledge.
- Experience working with Linux (RHEL).
- Knowledge of and experience with ELK stack and other monitoring/alerting solutions such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Scripting experience with one or more scripting languages or automation solutions (Ansible, Korn/Bash Shell, Python) to automate routine database tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- English level: C1.
You’ll get extra points for
- Knowledge of and experience with continuous delivery tools like Git, Azure DevOps, and Azure Pipelines.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and an understanding of system reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
About the squad
As an Oracle expert, you will be part of the Oracle Expert Team within WB Tech, working closely with internationally diversified Agile squads. The chapter consults squads to help them manage systems following best practices, proactively identifies potential risks, assists on performance improvements, and enhances database reliability. The global ING job architecture role naming convention for this position is "Engineer IV."
