NVIDIA is seeking a Physical Design Methodology and DevOps Engineer to write software that manages EDA tools and ensure their successful operation across distributed infrastructure. This role combines software development, DevOps, data analysis, and close collaboration with semiconductor physical design teams. Applications accepted at least until October 19, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Design and support mechanisms for coordinating and maintaining a large number of semiconductor design tasks across multiple datacenters.
- Build web interfaces to configure, launch and analyze tools.
- Debug and improve services on platforms ranging from web browsers to containerized services to bare metal Linux hosts.
- Data mine and analyze large datasets of job execution telemetry and tool Quality of Result (QoR) to improve flows.
- Help invent the next generation in semiconductor design methodology.
- Optionally contribute to the physical design of GPU/SoC products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of software development and operations experience, or related fields.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages such as Perl, Python, C, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge and experience with distributed systems.
- Web technologies and web programming experience (building web interfaces).
- A strong understanding of Linux systems.
Ways to stand out
- Experience in a DevOps environment and Agile methodology.
- Familiarity with MSSQL / MySQL / Perl.
- Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Vega.
- Experience with Static Timing Analysis and VLSI physical design.
- Debugging experience for relational databases and NoSQL datastores, and administering Linux systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary ranges provided by level:
- Level 2: 108,000 USD - 184,000 USD
- Level 3: 136,000 USD - 212,750 USD

Additional Information
- This is a full-time role. The position emphasizes both software development and operational responsibility for EDA toolchains, telemetry analysis, and improving semiconductor design flows.
