The tribe DevEx and System Engineering delivers the core capabilities of the One Engineering System at ING, which enhances developer productivity, improves system performance, and establishes a collaborative and innovative engineering culture, this leads to more efficient operations, higher-quality software, and a more agile and resilient organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and management of products and services in Developer Experience.
  • Ensure clear and optimized Developer Experience (DX) for Engineers.
  • Implement automation tools and processes (Golden Path) to improve efficiency.
  • Use data-driven approaches to measure and steer Developer Experience.
  • Collaborate closely with DevEx and System Engineering Tribe and other tribes.
  • Build strong partnerships with IT-Area Lead and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap.
  • Communicate product vision and present updates confidently.
  • Guide and mentor a team of product managers.
  • Establish and refine product management processes.
  • Craft and share compelling product narratives.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years in software engineering, IT operations, or software architect roles.
  • Passion for engineering and understanding of software engineers' needs.
  • Strong product management skills: strategic thinking, OKRs, road-mapping, storytelling, communication, business case development.
  • Experience with senior management interactions (CxO, IT Leads, Tribe Leads).
  • Deep understanding of user needs, customer behavior, and market trends.
  • Expertise in product lifecycle management from ideation to retirement.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making.
  • Understanding of modern Cloud Infrastructures and Cloud Native concepts.
  • Experience with engineering concepts like Design Patterns, Domain Driven Design, CI/CD, Shift/Left-Right, Zero Touch Operations.
  • Knowledge of tools like GitHub, Azure DevOps, Slack, Confluence, Maven, Gradle, Terraform, IntelliJ, Visual Studio Code.
  • Bonus: Hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, Python.
  • Passion for driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Proven track record as an individual contributor product manager.
  • Ability to quickly learn new domains and understand business areas.
  • Experience in coaching and developing team members.
  • Ability to engage constructively at all organizational levels.
