Role overview
You will be end-to-end responsible for ensuring ABN AMRO offers a safe Authentication capability that is consumed according to the standards and guidelines set, and you will be able to monitor this and steer the organization. The role focuses on enhancing capabilities/services and increasing their usage and coverage within the organisation. You will act as a functional leader and authority on the Authentication capability, translating a vision into a comprehensive roadmap for product and service development. You will combine knowledge of complex IT environments with Identity & Access Management, IT audit, and banking channels to increase capability compliance and reduce cyber risk.
Responsibilities
- Own the Authentication capability within the Identity & Access (I&A) grid end-to-end.
- Define and maintain a strategic vision and roadmap for the capability and translate it into actionable initiatives.
- Ensure services are secure, compliant, and user-friendly for clients, employees and developers.
- Drive improvements in ways of working across the I&A grid and advance the I&A capability.
- Monitor consumption of authentication services, ensure compliance with standards and guidelines, and steer the organisation based on insights.
- Collaborate with Workforce IT delivery to ensure technical robustness while managing functional requirements via Workforce Enablement & Control.
- Share knowledge and act as a subject-matter authority on Identity & Access within the organisation.
Working environment
You will serve as the Capability Owner for the Authentication Capability within ABN AMRO CISOβs Identity and Access Grid and be a member of the Workforce Enablement & Control team. The team includes Product Owners, Capability Owners, Domain Experts, Functional Specialists and Data Analysts and focuses on the functional aspects of Identity & Access while collaborating with IT Delivery for technical implementation. The office in Amstelveen is your home base; the organisation supports a flexible, hybrid working model.
Requirements
Must have (hard skills)
- 8+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management and complex IT environments.
- Strong understanding of Authentication methods and technologies (examples given: MFA, SSO, FIDO, step-up, risk-based authentication).
- 3+ years of experience in functional leadership roles (demonstrating authority without formal hierarchical power).
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Product Owner in a strategic role within an agile environment.
- Experience and a good understanding of relevant directives and legislation (for example DORA, AI Act).
- Knowledge of IT audit principles and how IAM impacts cyber risk and compliance.
Must have (soft skills)
- Vision and strategic planning skills; ability to develop a vision and translate it into an actionable roadmap.
- Proven relationship and stakeholder management skills with internal and external parties.
- Pro-active attitude with excellent communication skills.
Nice to haves
- Relevant certifications such as CISA and CISSP.
- Good security knowledge of main IT layers: operating systems, network infrastructure, and database management systems.
- Experience creating policy standards and guidelines for IAM.
- Knowledge of banking products and processes.
