Details

Eneco is looking for a QA Engineer to apply Quality Engineering practices across product teams, shifting testing left and raising the bar for test automation. You will focus on test automation for mobile and web, API/service testing, and occasional performance testing. The role involves identifying and reducing product risks, supporting cross-team communication, and acting as a technical advisor to engineering, product and business stakeholders. You will help improve quality processes and increase automation coverage using Azure DevOps and Git.

Responsibilities

  • Drive quality delivery: plan, estimate and deliver QA solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product owners, analysts and architects to meet client expectations and foster team alignment.
  • Refine requirements and backlogs: break down complex requirements, define test estimates and contribute to backlog refinement and sprint planning.
  • Continuously improve processes: participate in retrospectives and agile practices to drive efficiency and high-quality outputs.
  • Resolve issues proactively: accurately log defects, support root cause analysis and collaborate for timely resolution to minimize risk and cost.
  • Mentor and innovate: share knowledge, stay updated with tech trends, mentor peers and contribute to organisational growth and culture.

Requirements

  • Programming skills in TypeScript or Python and ability to work with object-oriented concepts.
  • Strong experience with automation testing using Playwright for web and Maestro for mobile.
  • Experience with API testing using Rest Assured or pytest.
  • Experience testing mobile native applications (iOS and Android).
  • Some knowledge of performance testing using JMeter or similar tools.
  • Comfortable using Git for version control and Azure DevOps for pipelines and automation.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Exposure to systems that handle large amounts of data where validation, processing and accuracy are important.
  • Good understanding of agile ways of working and being part of agile teams.
  • Familiar with QA best practices like shift-left testing, writing reliable automated checks, keeping tests maintainable and improving coverage over time.
  • The job text contains conflicting experience indications (1-3 years in header, but the requirements section mentions at least 5 years); please refer to the original posting for final clarification.

Benefits

  • Gross annual salary between €83.000 and €117.000 (including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance, and depending on role a bonus or collective profit sharing).
  • FlexBudget (can be paid out, used to buy extra holiday days or saved).
  • Personal and professional development support.
  • Hybrid working model: 40% at the office, 40% from home, 20% flexibly; with manager approval you may work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively.

Where you’ll work

You will join the B2C CX product team and collaborate with cross-functional product teams to support Eneco’s customer experience and sustainability goals.
