Eneco is looking for a QA Engineer to advance Quality Engineering practices with a strong focus on test automation, risk identification and mitigation across product teams. You will act as a technical advisor and collaborator for engineering, product, and business stakeholders to drive a shift-left QA strategy and raise the bar on test automation coverage.
Responsibilities
- Drive quality delivery: plan, estimate and deliver QA solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product owners, analysts and architects to meet client expectations and ensure team alignment.
- Lead test automation: design and implement scalable, standards-compliant automation frameworks integrated into DevOps pipelines.
- Refine requirements and backlogs: break down complex requirements, define test estimates, and contribute to backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Continuously improve processes: participate in retrospectives and agile practices to drive efficiency and high-quality outputs.
- Resolve issues proactively: accurately log defects, support root cause analysis, and collaborate for timely resolution.
- Mentor & innovate: share knowledge, stay updated with tech trends, mentor peers and contribute to organizational growth and culture.
Requirements
- 1-3 years relevant experience.
- Programming (OOP) in C#; Python is preferable.
- Automation testing experience with tools and frameworks such as Playwright, BDD (Cucumber), SpecFlow, Reqnroll, API automation, Rest Assured, Pytest.
- Some experience with performance testing (JMeter or similar).
- Experience working in agile teams and agile methodology.
- Version control with Git.
- Demonstrable experience with Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP).
- Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exposure to data-heavy system testing where data ingestion, validation and processing according to business rules are key.
- Demonstrable experience testing event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hub).
- Bonus: experience as a QA automation engineer in mission-critical services (e.g., banking, energy, health).
Where you’ll work
- You will join the VPP Asset Optimization team and collaborate with cross-functional product teams supporting Eneco’s trading operations and sustainability goals.

- Gross annual salary between €83.000 and €117.000 (including FlexBudget and 8% holiday allowance; role-dependent bonus or collective profit sharing).
