Role overview
Sentry is growing its North America Sales Engineering team. As an early member of the team you will act as a technical expert throughout the customer journey: providing technical demonstrations, advising on implementation best practices, supporting trials and implementations, and helping customers realize value from Sentry products.
Responsibilities
- Bring technical expertise to customer demos, trials, implementations, and tickets
- Develop best practices, educational offerings, and content around error and performance management, open-source, or the Sentry product (for example, how-to articles, videos, code samples, demos)
- Provide workshop-level interactions to customers to drive maturity of use and broader adoption
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, customer success, support, and product teams to represent the customer voice and drive product improvements
- Attend conferences occasionally and speak with prospects at events
Requirements
- 3+ years as a Pre-Sales Engineer (preferred), Implementation Consultant, or Software Developer with experience leading projects, presenting solutions, and/or working with customers
- Experience developing mobile apps with native (iOS, Android) or multi-platform (React Native, Flutter) frameworks highly desired
- Hands-on experience with programming languages, such as JavaScript, Java, Swift/Cocoa, Python, Go, .NET, Ruby, Node.js, etc.
- Experience with performance monitoring, OpenTelemetry, and code instrumentation desired but not required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, task-switching, ambiguous, process-guided environment
- Understanding of sales processes in a high-transaction sales environment
- Experience selling and working with pure SaaS solutions (experience selling/implementing infrastructure tools is a plus) and a proven track record of driving revenue through technical interactions with prospects
- BS Degree in Engineering (preferably Computer Science/Engineering)
Compensation and benefits
The base salary range (or hourly wage range, if applicable) that Sentry reasonably expects to pay for this position is $130,000 to $165,000 plus a variable. A successful candidate’s actual base salary (or hourly wage) amount will be determined by factors including the candidate’s work location, education, experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. A successful candidate will be eligible to participate in Sentry’s employee benefit plans/programs applicable to the candidate’s position (including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage).
