Senior Azure Platform Engineer

Details

We are looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer with broad understanding of providing Azure as an enterprise-ready platform, including networking, policy and governance, and security controls. You will join the platform team that develops Azure landing zones and related integrations, policies and governance for consumption by other teams across the bank. This role combines architecture with engineering and, as a senior engineer, you will guide and help the team with both short-term and long-term goals.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and/or lead the design and development of Azure platform capabilities, taking security and compliance requirements into account.
• Develop Azure landing zones, integrations, platform functions, policies and governance for internal consumption.
• Translate ABN AMRO IT and business needs into development requirements and platform capabilities.
• Enable Business DevOps teams (including 400+ internal Azure DevOps teams) to consume Azure services as self-service in a secure and compliant way.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for products and solutions owned by your Azure Platform DevOps team.
• Collaborate with 10+ other Azure DevOps teams across the organisation to deliver platform value.

Working environment

• The Public Cloud Grid owns the Financial Services Cloud Platform (FSCP) and acts as an Internal Service Provider (ISP).
• You will work in an Azure Platform DevOps organisation responsible for design, development, operations and support of Azure platform products, solutions and capabilities.
• The role operates in a DevOps and Agile way of working on one of the largest Azure deployments in Europe.

Requirements

• Microsoft Azure certified Solution Architect (required).
• 10+ years of relevant experience (senior profile).
• Broad knowledge of the Microsoft Azure service portfolio and its latest developments.
• Proven experience using and developing Azure services in a senior role.
• Strong security awareness; CCSP, CISSP or other relevant security certifications are recommended.
• Hands-on experience with ARM templates and JSON, and deployment automation with PowerShell.
• Knowledge and experience with YAML pipelines.
• Experience with programming languages such as C# and Python is preferred.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.
• Good understanding of object-oriented design and development.
• Ability to act as a sparring partner for the development community and other cloud (DevOps) teams.
• Ability to translate business requirements into platform solutions, services and products.
• Service oriented attitude and growth mindset.

• Gross monthly salary: €5.847 - €8.353 (based on a 36-hour work week; includes vacation pay and benefit budget).
