About BUUT

After the summer, ABN AMRO will launch neobank BUUT. And this isn’t just any bank. It’s the new bank created by the makers of Tikkie. Simple to use, interactive, fully visually driven, and 100% at home in the world of the new generation.

BUUT offers everything you’d expect from a bank, but with a Tikkie twist.

BUUT is built on the knowledge and experience of ABN AMRO and features the same familiar tone, design, and user experience as Tikkie. Completely tailored to the world of the new generation, designed specifically for teens and their parents.

Soon it will be available for everyone to download in the app stores. For now, people can sign up for the waitlist at buut.com.

Your mission

As a senior backend developer at BUUT, you'll be a senior member in one of our development teams, driving innovation and excellence in banking for the new generation. You'll leverage your expertise to guide architectural decisions, mentor team members, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions using cutting-edge technology in an agile environment. Here's how you'll make an impact:

• Lead the development and architecture of parts of our microservices platform, utilizing AWS technologies to build resilient solutions
• Propel technical innovation by proposing creative solutions to complex challenges
• Mentor junior and medior developers, sharing best practices and fostering technical growth
• Uphold code quality and champion engineering excellence across the team
• Initiate technical discussions and contribute to architectural decision-making processes

What we're looking for in a Senior BUUT team member

At BUUT, we're looking for developers who bring positive energy and thrive in our collaborative culture. With proven expertise across multiple technical domains, you offer deep insights that drive innovation. Your strong personal leadership skills have guided and mentored junior and medior developers, fostering their growth. Visionary thinking powers your ability to spearhead technological advancements. Excellence in strategic communication ensures seamless collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience
• GO proficiency (or solid experience with preferably compiled languages like C/C++, Rust) and strongly typed languages (Java, C#)
• Deep AWS expertise - architecture design, implementation, and optimization experience with Serverless, Event driven, NoSQL stacks (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateways, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, CloudFront)
• Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK in TypeScript preferred)
• Extensive experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices and technologies (e.g. Github Actions, Azure DevOps)
• Proven track record in designing and implementing event driven, microservices architectures
• Strong background in system design, performance optimization, and security best practices
