The Senior Back-End Engineer role focuses on building seamless, intelligent, and scalable connection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Staff and Lead Engineers to design scalable and clean architectures.
  • Uphold best practices and guide Back-End engineers using modern .NET tooling.
  • Align product and technical goals with Product Manager and UX Designers.
  • Make strategic engineering decisions alongside Lead Software Engineer.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration with platform, data integration, and other feature teams.
  • Maintain and evolve standards in code quality, documentation, and agile processes.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, transparency, and high performance.

Team

Team Connect is a multidisciplinary product team responsible for features that enable interactions between home seekers and agents including contact forms, agent CRM system integrations, newsletters, favorites, AI suggestions, and APIs for mobile/web platforms. The agile team includes backend and frontend engineers, designers, product managers, analysts, QA specialists, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Deep experience building and scaling back-end systems with modern .NET technologies.
  • Confident in initiating complex initiatives with strong architectural, scalability, and maintainability opinions.
  • Fluent in English and residing in the Netherlands (Dutch is a plus).
  • Experience with: Azure cloud, Cosmos DB, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), event-driven architecture (Azure Service Bus), Terraform, Helm, Datadog.
  • Designing robust APIs and asynchronous workflows.
  • Mentoring peers and aligning engineering with product/business needs.
