Help shape the way people connect with real estate agents
Role overview
At Funda, Team Connect ensures users can reach out to real estate agents at the right moment, through the right channel, and backed by the right data. You will join Team Connect as a Senior Back-End Engineer with deep .NET expertise to design and scale systems that connect consumers and brokers. You'll be a senior voice driving quality, architecture and engineering excellence and will be empowered by Lead and Staff Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Co-define scalable, clean architectures alongside Staff and Lead Engineers and other senior engineers.
- Be a gatekeeper for engineering standards, delivery and quality metrics.
- Share knowledge and uphold best practices in modern .NET tooling; mentor and guide fellow back-end engineers.
- Align product and technical goals with Product Managers and UX Designers to ensure sustainable delivery.
- Collaborate with the Lead Software Engineer on strategic engineering decisions and ensure engineering alignment.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration (platform, data integration, other feature teams).
- Uphold and evolve standards in code quality, documentation, and agile processes.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, transparency and high performance across the team.
Team and scope
Team Connect is a multidisciplinary product team responsible for features that power interactions between home seekers and real estate agents. The scope includes:
- The contact form component used across the site to capture leads.
- Integration with agent CRM systems to deliver leads effectively.
- Support for newsletters and favourites (saved properties).
- AI-powered suggestions based on user activity.
- APIs for mobile app and web platform supporting contacts and favourites.
You will work in an agile environment with a mixed team of back-end, front-end, UX, product, data and QA colleagues, and be supported by a Lead and a Staff Engineer.
Requirements / What we expect from you
- Deep experience building and scaling back-end systems using modern .NET technologies.
- Experience with cloud-based development on Microsoft Azure.
- Containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with distributed, event-driven architectures (Azure Service Bus mentioned).
- Infrastructure as code experience using Terraform.
- Deployment orchestration experience with Helm charts.
- Experience designing robust, maintainable APIs and asynchronous workflows.
- Experience mentoring and uplifting technical capabilities of peers.
- Ability to align engineering with product and business needs.
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Currently living in the Netherlands.
