ING provides banking services and complex financing solutions to companies globally. To provide a safe banking environment for our customers, ING must comply with global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations including maintaining robust Know Your Customer (KYC) controls. All KYC related domains work closely together to form the Global Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention (FCFP) organisation, to further strengthen the effective and efficient management of INGβs Financial Economic Crime (FEC) risks by establishing shared standardized guidance, technology, and operational processing.
The Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and KYC Control domain ensures that ING has a state-of-the-art CDD practice in place, that adeptly manages both CDD risk & operations as well as overall KYC risk for Retail & Wholesale banking across countries. This includes defining the CDD Target Operating Model, comprising all AML/ KYC related policies and implementing it as a global standard across the world and conducting oversight of bank wide CDD business as usual (BAU) activities, including operational execution across Retail and Wholesale (service ownership).
Role summary
Within the Global FCP BI & OM team we are looking for a colleague in the role of Senior Data Analyst to support, by interacting with various stakeholders, in collecting, analysing, reporting on and generating insights from data, to provide business users with robust evidence to support decision making. You will use a variety of traditional and novel methods and systems to provide critical data-driven insights for the CDD/KYC domain across Wholesale Banking.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the process mining program (Sylonis) for the Wholesale Banking FCP.
- Act as the linking pin in alignment of global reporting of WB Customer Due Diligence processing units towards local countries and Hubs (Slovakia and Philippines).
- Gather data and convert it to information and actionable insights supporting operational performance, value delivery and roadmap development.
- Develop volume planning analysis and forecasting models for day-to-day operations.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide optimisation insights and standardised reporting.
- Create a platform for Power BI reporting and implement automation within QBR and QPR reporting for senior management.
- Perform value delivery analysis and prepare reporting to support business cases and decision making.
- Interact closely with Product Owners, Customer Journey Experts, UX/UI designers and development teams to translate requirements into deliverables.
- Build BAU Management Information (MI) process documentation and run adherence checks; align with RB CDD where possible.
- Analyse business impact of transformation & changes (before and after releases) from a data/reporting perspective.
- Drive continuous improvement by collecting, analysing and recommending ways to address and manage business requirements; identify automation and digitisation opportunities to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy.
- Perform long-term capacity planning and model digitization/improvement impact.
Requirements
- College degree in Mathematics, Computer/Data Science, Information Management, Statistics or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis in the financial services industry, preferably related to KYC/CDD/AML/financial crime domains.
- Experience with BI and reporting: Power BI or Cognos knowledge is a plus.
- Experience or involvement with process mining (Sylonis) and reporting platforms and automation.
- Strong analytical capabilities using state-of-the-art methods and techniques for data analysis; ability to build data-driven analyses, recommendations and visualisations.
- Experience in forecasting, capacity planning, cost analysis and creating standardised management reporting (QBR/QPR/OPD/KPI reporting).
- Ability to interact with stakeholders, act as single point of contact for requirements, drive implementations and close the loop on progress.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and the ability to function effectively in cross-border teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting conclusions and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong user research skills (interviews, surveys, usability testing) and a user-centric mindset.
- Creative, innovative and strategic thinker with attention to detail, resilience and the ability to simplify complexity.
- Fluent in English.
Compensation
- Wage (gross): 2.669 EUR/month
- By legal requirement the employer provides the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. The final financial conditions will be discussed and negotiated at the personal interview, however not less than the above-mentioned minimum salary component.
