Are you passionate about both advanced analytics and empowering others to grow in their analytical capabilities? Do you have the expertise to lead by example while fostering a culture of statistical thinking? Channel Security is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our Fraud Monitoring team. You will be a technical expert and strong individual contributor who also helps advance the analytics maturity of a business-driven team, serving as a pillar for analytics standards and shaping how data is used to make impactful decisions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on data analysis to support business-as-usual activities, track departmental KPIs, and develop new insights into fraud patterns across payment channels (phishing, account takeover, lost/stolen debit cards, e-commerce fraud, etc.).
- Dive into diverse and complex datasets to extract actionable insights, assess data field potential for detection improvements, recognise seasonal patterns, and create reliable forecasts.
- Partner with fraud experts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to translate insights into hypotheses and experiments to improve fraud detection.
- Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one coaching to enhance analytical skills across the team; mentor colleagues to adopt statistical rigor.
- Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for leveraging data to achieve strategic goals.
- Proactively drive improvements in analytics, including reporting, dashboarding, and data-driven decision making.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar).
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical skills & experience
- SQL (must have).
- Python (must have).
- Experience with Databricks / Snowflake or other cloud analytics environments.
- Experience with MS Power BI, Tableau, or Google Looker.
- Experience with PySpark and Apache Hive.
- Exposure to No-SQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB, ElasticSearch).
- Experience applying statistical techniques to real-world business problems.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Working environment
- Team: Grid Channel Security within Corporate Information Security Office (CISO), Fraud Monitoring team (~25 colleagues), multidisciplinary and motivated, focused on protecting customers.
- Way of working: hybrid; day-to-day organised using agile and scrum principles; informal atmosphere with collaborative culture.
