As a Senior Data Engineer you know the world of data and analytics well, and within a short period of time you will know how to link this perfectly to the complex work field within ABN AMRO. With your experience as an engineer, you will work on the modern datastores of I&T, working with data from P&T, CISO, CDO and more.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and develop data needs, environment and platform for the organisation.
- Improve data sourcing, processing and data quality.
- Retrieve exact data needs of Platform & Technologies and technically implement these in the platform.
- Set up future-proof data architecture, make correct data available and unlock necessary data.
- Develop data pipelines to make data available for analysis.
- Ensure solutions adhere to internal and external standards and policies.
- Train and coach junior and medior team members to maintain a DevOps-capable data engineering team.
- Maintain technical alignment with stakeholders across P&T.

Platforms & Technology (P&T) is ABN AMROβs internal IT service provider delivering state-of-the-art IT with optimal technology, easy-to-consume services, and end-to-end control & oversight. P&T provides IT to ABN AMRO employees and aims to deliver reliable, business-enabling, easily adaptable and future-proof IT platforms & technologies that can be consumed via self-service mechanisms. As a Data Engineer you are part of the Data Driven Services department of P&T, responsible for all data and analytics related activities within P&T and delivering IT for the Enterprise Enabling Data Domain (CDO, CISO, P&T, I&T, Procurement). The department is dynamic and characterised by good cooperation and enthusiasm for varied data and analytics activities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience and a relevant HBO/WO study.
- Experience working with complex data sets, tools and components within data architecture.
- Experience with data warehousing.
- Experience transforming data using SQL, Python and Spark.
- Extensive experience improving data quality, reliability and efficiency.
- Experience working in a DevOps team.
- Extensive experience with data integration activities (ETL).
- Extensive experience working with cloud solutions, preferably on Azure and with Databricks.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Focused on collaboration, innovation and achieving goals.
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a bonus, not a must).
