Responsibilities
- Own and build key features across frontend and backend systems that streamline debugging and monitoring for developers.
- Engage with the open-source community and customers: collaborate with contributors, solve their challenges, and incorporate feedback into the product roadmap.
- Tackle technical challenges related to processing and analyzing petabytes of observability data and scale the cloud-hosted platform for high performance.
- Deliver groundbreaking analysis tools that help engineers diagnose production issues faster.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a preference for building developer tools.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills (Next.js frontend and Express backend).
- Strong proficiency in React.js.
- Proficiency in SQL for query generation on ClickHouse.
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- A passion for open source and engagement with the developer community.
- Experience creating developer tooling and an eye for designing for developer experience.
Bonus
- Expertise in distributed systems and event ingestion pipelines.
- Experience working with columnar databases.
- Strong opinions on observability tools and a vision for making them significantly better.
- Familiarity with additional languages like Python, Rust, or PHP for building integrations.
- Experience with SDKs.

Compensation
- Typical starting salary for this role in the United States: $130,000 - $208,000 USD.
- Typical starting salary for US Premium Markets (e.g., Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City Metro): $141,000 - $230,000 USD.
