Joining Collibra’s Test Engineering team

Responsibilities

  • Participate in testing activities within the Scrum Team and assist in successfully executing testing strategies.
  • Develop and promote testing knowledge within an Agile team and support developers in testing.
  • Share experience on various testing tools relevant to the business environment and drive experimentation for improvements.
  • Define and maintain metrics and promote testing awareness within Engineering.
  • Promote a shift-left approach in testing across Engineering.
  • Drive Test Data definition and develop scalable frameworks and tools to solve problems.
  • This is a hybrid role based in the Prague office, requiring at least two days per week onsite.

SDET responsibilities include:

  • Accessibility and Front end testing using TypeScript, Playwright, and Storybook.
  • Reviewing requirement specifications and user stories to provide timely feedback.
  • Designing, developing, and executing automation scripts and Test Automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured).
  • Working on continuous integration of scripts and driving continuous testing efforts.
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking issues.
  • Collaborating closely with Software/Test Engineers and Product Managers to drive automation and testing.
  • Participating in exploratory testing and test design sessions to improve product quality.
  • Acquiring deep domain knowledge and approaching testing holistically for comprehensive coverage.
  • Strategically discerning what to automate to balance risk, cost, and value.
  • Coaching developers and other SDETs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Test Automation.
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools (JIRA or similar), and processes.
  • Experience in TypeScript and hands-on with automated testing tools (Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured).
  • Experience with DevOps, Github Actions, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Good communication skills and collaboration.
  • Ability to identify and improve flaws in testing processes, toolset, and infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Work authorization for Prague.

  • Experienced in building/maintaining CICD pipelines.
  • Experienced in Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Skilled at identifying testing and quality challenges.
  • Able to create innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to combine automation skills with manual exploratory testing.
  • Independent thinker with curiosity, critical mindset, and keen attention to detail.
  • Well organized and accustomed to innovative environments.

Measures of success

  • Complete onboarding and mandatory learning within the first month.
  • Actively contribute to test processes and coverage improvements by the third month.
  • Own test projects and drive quality improvements by the sixth month.
