Join INGβs WBAA Tribe to explore AI opportunities in banking and validate ideas for the Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics (WBAA) Tribe. As a senior UX designer with strong research experience, you will shape innovative concepts, run discovery workshops, conduct user research, and create data-driven designs and prototypes. You will work hands-on with a cross-functional team to ensure a user-centric approach throughout product development and to discover impactful (Gen)AI opportunities for Wholesale Banking.
Responsibilities
- Lead user research efforts (user interviews, surveys, usability testing) to identify pain points, opportunities, and areas for innovation within INGβs opportunity spaces.
- Map opportunity areas with stakeholders, validate ideas through discovery workshops, and align design and research findings with business goals.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes and UI designs in Figma to communicate design concepts and validate assumptions through quick iterations.
- Partner with developers, product managers, data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders to brainstorm, conceptualize, and validate new ideas; ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and aligned with product strategy.
- Leverage data, analytics, and user feedback to inform design decisions; iterate based on real-world insights.
- Document research findings, user journeys, personas, and design systems to facilitate clear communication and consistency across designs.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, design tools, and research methods to continuously improve user experience and design approaches.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong focus on research and user-centered design.
- Proven research capabilities: conducting discovery research, usability testing, and translating insights into actionable design improvements.
- Portfolio demonstrating ability to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and showing research process and outcomes.
- Expertise in Figma for UI design and prototyping, with attention to detail and consistency.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, data scientists, and analysts.
- Comfortable with design thinking and iterative development processes in a discovery context.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform design decisions and validate assumptions.
- Deep understanding of business analysis and product strategy.
- Open to feedback, eager to learn, and passionate about driving innovation in product design.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with visual design, typography, copywriting, or illustration.
- Familiarity with AI initiatives and their application in financial services.
