Role summary

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who applies SRE principles (automation-first, reducing toil, and reliability as a feature) and helps design and operate highly available, scalable systems. The role involves working with containers, observability tooling, Linux/Windows server administration, databases, CI/CD and driving reliability and incident management across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, proactively resolving issues and improving reliability.
  • Lead and mentor a growing team across multiple locations.
  • Drive observability, incident/problem management, and root cause analysis.
  • Plan capacity and assess system health to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage SLAs and work with teams to ensure service quality.
  • Ensure IT control compliance and support audits with evidence.
  • Automate operations using bots and runners to streamline infrastructure tasks.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Generate production reports on availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Occasionally respond to business service requests (e.g., backup restores).
  • Advocate for SRE best practices and contribute to a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Required:

  • Strong understanding and application of Site Reliability Engineering principles (automation-first, reducing toil, reliability as a feature).
  • Experience designing and operating highly available, scalable systems.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Kubernetes / OpenShift).
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools, and incident management.
  • Deep expertise in Linux/Unix administration.
  • Experience with Tomcat and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL).
  • Strong proficiency in Windows systems administration, especially with ASP.NET / .NET Core apps on IIS.
  • Ability to define and work with SLIs, SLOs and SLAs.
  • Scripting or development experience in PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar).
  • Collaboration skills and ability to promote a culture of reliability.

Nice to have / extra points:

  • Experience with Agile platforms and rapid scaling.
  • Familiarity with ELK stack, Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience with enterprise scheduling tools (TWSd, UAC).
  • Scripting in Python, automation with Ansible, infrastructure as code (Terraform / Pulumi).
  • Experience applying DevOps / SRE practices to front-office banking processes.
  • Ability to lead blameless postmortems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
