At Coinbase we build the emerging onchain platform and seek engineers who are passionate about crypto, blockchain, and building high-scale developer tools. The AI Tools team focuses on accelerating AI and agentic workflows for engineers by delivering tools and primitives that automate work and unlock productivity gains across the engineering lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Build infrastructure and tools that enable AI-driven developer workflows.
- Create and deploy autonomous AI agents that integrate with dev tools such as GitHub, Slack, Linear, and Figma.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to ship AI products focused on performance, scalability, and user delight.
- Prototype quickly, iterate, and optimize for real-world performance and scalability.
- Package and deliver AI solutions via SDKs, APIs, and user-friendly interfaces.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more of: Python, Go, or TypeScript/Node.js.
- Experience orchestrating AI agents and automating developer workflows.
- Familiarity with observability tools for AI/ML systems.
- Practical experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD processes.
- Ability to rapidly prototype and ship production-ready, robust code.
Nice to Haves
- Experience shipping agentic workflows or building LLM-powered systems (examples cited: Claude Code, LangChain).
- Contributions to open-source AI or agent frameworks.
- Experience integrating AI technologies into popular dev and collaboration tools.
- Startup or zero-to-one product experience.
- Deep understanding of reasoning, planning, and memory architectures in autonomous agents.

- Location: Remote-first (#LI-Remote). In-person participation is expected throughout the year for team/company offsites.
- Pay Transparency Notice: Target annual salary range: $152,405 — $179,300 USD. Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
