The Software Engineering team at Collibra is a team of builders around the world, characterized by a love for innovative technology, a desire to solve problems, and a never-ending goal to build simple, elegant products that delight customers and simplify all levels of data engagement.

This is a hybrid role based in our Brussels office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining new features to further improve our products.
• Establishing strong relationships across multiple teams to achieve results and partnering with others to implement new functionalities with an emphasis on quality.
• Developing efficient clean code and serve as an expert in best practices for coding and help more junior members improve their practices.
• Following the agile process (Scrum) to make sure your deliverables are visible for the entire team and company stakeholders.
• Demonstrating results / functionality / change / recommendations.
• Taking direct ownership of challenges found and working collaboratively through these with others by sharing your ideas.
• Contribute in efforts to invent, design and build software that is both stable and meets customer objectives.

Requirements

• Professional experience in building large and scalable web applications with Javascript, Typescript, CSS, HTML, React, Material UI and Jest.
• Work experience in building products intended for real-time on-demand environments e.g. SaaS, Internet/Digital, or Cloud Products.
• Knowledge of OO principles, Design Patterns, functional programming, clean code principles, and Agile processes (Scrum) in developing and delivering software.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Work experience with at least one of the following additional technologies: NX, Node, GraphQL/Restful APIs, ZOD, Playwright, Storybook/Chromatic, Accessibility/Internationalization.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
• This is a full time employment position; freelance or B2B arrangements are not considered.
• Must have work authorization to work in Brussels, Belgium.

Measures of Success

• Within your first month, you will get familiar with the environment, software implementation, simple business use cases, and submit code to production.
• Within your third month, you will implement new user stories with quality and care, understanding the value they bring to customers.
• Within your sixth month, you will be a productive member, delivering quality code, participating in testing, and facing many challenges and growth opportunities.
