Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to work within the Collaboration domain, focusing on digital employee channels, enterprise search, collaboration tools and knowledge management. The role interfaces with Corporate Technology and Collaboration stakeholders across countries and contributes to global standards and reference architectures.
Responsibilities
- Translate policies and/or requirements into solutions.
- Create solution architecture designs highlighting options to guide squads.
- Ensure alignment with high-level architecture and/or reference architecture and/or applicable standards.
- Produce detailed designs with sufficient granularity for development teams to implement.
- Contribute to the creation of global standards and reference architectures.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with Corporate Technology and Collaboration business and technology stakeholders.
- Work under guidance of domain and enterprise architects.
- Participate and/or present in architecture governance forums as required.
- Manage features in the architecture team backlog, ensuring completeness of descriptions, updates and committed start and end dates aligned with related Corporate Technology and Collaboration chapters.
- Actively participate in broader quarterly planning and commitment sessions with the Corporate Technology and Collaboration Chapters.
- Actively document and manage solution architecture decisions and technical debt at solution level for the applicable domain(s).
- Collaborate with and guide engineers in the squads to implement the approved solution architecture.
- Organize and support workshops and presentations for decision making for the domains involved.
- Manage stakeholders across multiple departments and countries in the Corporate Technology and Collaboration domain.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Solution Architect or in an Engineering Lead role.
- Experience with digital employee channels (internal and external websites), Enterprise Search (Elastic or other search technologies), Collaboration tools (Confluence or similar) and Knowledge Management domain.
- Experience with Public Cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online implementations.
- Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial institutions).
- Excellent communication skills; capable of conveying complex technical topics to various audiences.
- Ability to develop strong and collaborative partnerships with organizational stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Nice to have / Extra points
- Knowledge of and experience with IT architecture methodologies and processes (e.g., TOGAF).
- Knowledge or experience in architecture modelling (ArchiMate) and architecture tooling.
- Knowledge of service management processes and experience working in an agile environment.
Information about the squad / Team
- The architect will be part of the People and Hubs Enterprise Architecture chapter with architects working from both the Netherlands and Hubs Poland.
- This solution architect will interface with broader Collaboration Content and the Global Workplace and Collaboration Chapter, a cross-country tribe across the Netherlands and Hubs Poland.
- Role naming convention in the global ING job architecture: "Solution Architect IV".
