Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with a global user base and products for observability (Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Tempo). The Staff AI Growth Engineer will architect and lead development of next-generation AI agent and workflow systems to streamline marketing and operational workflows, own the AI growth roadmap, and deliver scalable business automation and integrations across teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and development of AI-powered systems, workflows, and multi-agent platforms across marketing operations and extended business functions.
- Build and maintain scalable cloud-based infrastructure (GCP) and workflow automation using no-code/low-code platforms (Make.com, n8n, Workato) for high-impact business applications.
- Drive modular, scalable, multi-agent AI systems that operate 24/7 and integrate with marketing platforms (e.g., Customer.io, Marketo, Salesforce, BigQuery).
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and scalable automation frameworks.
- Lead strategic AI transformation initiatives across cross-functional teams while maintaining technical ownership of core systems.
- Partner with RevOps, Demand Generation, Regional Marketing, Events Marketing, and SDR teams to identify workflow inefficiencies and deliver agent-based solutions with measurable business outcomes.
- Design templates and governance models enabling teams to build, trigger, and measure AI solutions independently.
- Build and maintain secure, documented systems with robust PII controls, compliance protocols, and permission frameworks.
- Establish company-wide standards for AI prompt engineering, version control, testing, observability, and business impact measurement.
- Provide internal training, best practices, and scalable documentation frameworks for AI tools to support organizational adoption.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering or systems development experience, with 2+ years focused on AI-first development.
- Proven experience building 0β1 AI products and strategic technology implementations with measurable business outcomes.
- Proficient in JavaScript/Node.js and Python; experienced with Git-based development workflows and strategic architecture planning.
- Deep familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and Cloud Functions.
- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM frameworks and services (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) and integrating them into workflows.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and scalable automation frameworks.
- Practical experience with no-code/low-code automation platforms (Make.com, n8n, Workato) for business workflows.
- Demonstrated experience integrating with marketing platforms such as Customer.io, HubSpot, Marketo, and Salesforce; building lead enrichment, routing, scoring, and governance workflows.
- Background working with analytics, segmentation, and personalization platforms.
- Experience designing automation roadmaps, agent hierarchies, and reusable infrastructure; ability to scope, prioritize, and deliver high-ROI AI automation projects.
- Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and presentation skills across technical and business audiences.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and prompt engineering best practices.
- Awareness and experience implementing PII controls, compliance protocols, and governance for production AI systems.

Compensation & Benefits
- United States base compensation range: $178,000 - $215,000 (base). Actual compensation may vary by location, level, and experience. Role includes Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
