The Ads Business Engineering team operates at the intersection of engineering, product, sales, and business development, delivering technical expertise and solutions that empower technology partners, agencies, and advertisers to integrate with Reddit’s advertising platform. In this Staff-level role you will combine deep technical consulting with hands-on engineering to guide strategic integrations, contribute to implementations across Reddit’s stack or in partners' codebases, and shape long-term integration strategy and developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor and solutions architect for strategic partners or direct advertisers, guiding integration and adoption of Reddit’s advertising APIs and tools.
• Design and prototype proof-of-concept solutions to accelerate technical enablement; builds may occur in Reddit systems or within partner codebases.
• Architect integration approaches spanning multiple systems and product surfaces; provide technical guidance to internal and external engineering teams executing implementations.
• Collaborate directly with partner engineering teams to optimize performance, address integration gaps, and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Lead onboarding, testing, and pre-launch support to ensure smooth implementations.
• Anticipate how product or industry changes could impact Reddit’s advertising ecosystem and prepare partners accordingly.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Business Development to shape and execute go-to-market strategies for new features and partner programs.
• Represent the technical voice of partners internally, surfacing feedback and influencing product and platform priorities.
• Help define and evolve reusable technical patterns, documentation, and tooling to streamline future integrations and improve developer experience.
• Support escalations for complex or high-impact integrations and provide clear, actionable direction to resolve blockers.

Requirements (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software development experience with a strong track record of owning end-to-end technical projects and cross-organizational coordination.
• Demonstrated experience architecting solutions that span systems or teams, ideally in advertising, data platforms, or large-scale integrations.
• Hands-on coding expertise in one or more modern programming languages (examples listed: Python, Java, JavaScript, Node.js), with a focus on backend or API development.
• Proven ability to contribute directly to external integrations and prototype in partner environments.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, and modern SDK patterns.
• Effective communicator with experience presenting complex technical and business ideas to internal leadership and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading or shaping technical strategy for high-value advertising or platform partners.
• Deep understanding of the AdTech ecosystem and how Reddit’s platform aligns with industry trends and standards.
• Experience navigating legal, privacy, and compliance topics in partner-facing technology.
• Ability to influence product roadmaps and drive GTM alignment across sales, product, and engineering.
• Contributions to developer experience through tooling, documentation, or ecosystem standards.
• Familiarity with scalable systems architecture, enterprise SaaS integrations, or cloud infrastructure (PaaS/IaaS).
• Comfortable handling ambiguity and balancing short-term partner needs with long-term platform goals.
• Ads industry and ads partnerships expertise.

Compensation

• Base pay range (U.S.): $194,600 - $272,400 USD. Role may also be eligible for equity (RSUs) and, depending on position, commission.
