Airbnb's Community Support Platform (CSP) empowers global Community Support ambassadors by using modern technology to deliver efficient, high-quality customer service. The Chatbot Product team combines AI capabilities with support ambassador expertise to provide seamless user experiences. This role focuses on designing backend systems, crafting prompts for AI applications, shaping workflows, and enhancing AI-driven customer service.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and data science teams to develop backend systems and improve AI prompt effectiveness.
- Drive the technical vision and strategy for workflow and backend optimization.
- Design and iterate on prompt engineering to fine-tune AI capabilities for customer service scenarios.
- Lead and contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation, and deployment.
- Participate in code and design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve technical quality.
- Optimize system availability, performance, and scalability while delivering efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- 9+ years of software development experience, particularly in service-oriented architectures and backend development.
- Experience in prompt engineering and integrating AI/LLM-driven solutions.
- Expertise in workflow optimization and backend systems with a focus on scalable and flexible architecture.
- Proficiency in building backend systems emphasizing technical quality, efficiency, and resilience.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and domains.
- Passion for agile development, system optimization, and improving team productivity.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience).
Location & Eligibility
- This position is US - Remote Eligible. Candidates must live in a U.S. state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states are excluded). The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $204,000 — $255,000 USD. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. Base pay depends on factors such as experience, skills, and market demands.
