ING Americas Tech offers a paid, full-time 10-week Summer 2026 Tech Internship (June 2026) in New York City. The internship exposes students to a range of technology functions supporting Wholesale Banking across multiple sectors and product areas. Interns will join one of several technology teams (End User Services, Innovation, Stream Aligned Teams, Information Security, Infrastructure / Site Reliability Engineering & Quality Assurance) and contribute to day-to-day operations, projects, and automation/innovation efforts.

Responsibilities
- Support Service Desk activities, assist with incident management and local service calls (End User Services / Desktop Engineering).
- Assist with project implementation and help roll out new technologies to end users, promoting secure and reliable computing platforms.
- Support creation of incident management reports, trend analysis, and project metrics.
- Work with feature engineers to understand product offerings and platforms used to process data end-to-end.
- Contribute to IT risk analysis and documentation; collect artifacts to evidence risk controls.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, help with reviews, sprint metrics, and documentation.
- Support infrastructure activities: asset inventory (CMDB) verification, dependency mapping, incident ticket statistics and trend reporting.
Areas / Teams (examples of focus areas)
- End User Services / Desktop Engineering: Windows 10, Office365, troubleshooting, desktop support, user education.
- Innovation: development and automation (Python, Java, RPA), Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerBI, PowerAutomate), web design, automation tools like Automation Anywhere.
- Stream Aligned Teams: feature engineering and DevOps work (development + operational support) across many applications; agile delivery in 2-week sprints.
- Information Security: support governance, risk management, compliance monitoring, and emerging threat visibility.
- Infrastructure, SRE & QA: networks, databases, servers, reliability and quality improvements, Azure Boards participation.
Requirements
- Current undergraduate student (graduating in 2027) pursuing a bachelorβs degree in computer science or related field; graduate students may be considered for some roles. Liberal arts majors with interest in finance/tech are welcome.
- Must be based in or able to relocate to New York for the summer; in-office work is required.
- Basic knowledge of computers and networks.
- Strong communication, multitasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and a customer-service mindset.
- Demonstrable technical passion and eagerness to learn.
Technical knowledge / preferred skills
- Strong skillset required in Microsoft Windows platform (Windows 10) and Office365.
- Programming skills helpful, particularly Python; familiarity with PowerShell and GitHub is helpful.
- Experience or interest in automation technologies (PowerAutomate, Automation Anywhere), Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerBI), pytest and pytest-bdd is a plus.
- Prior exposure to cybersecurity/information security, Azure Boards, CMDB, incident management, and agile ways of working is beneficial.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is expected.
Compensation & other
- Pay: $35/hour.
- Attendance: in-office as needed; at least one day per week in office is mentioned, but role requires local residency and in-office work for many positions.
