About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the organization
The Revenue and Financial Automation team at Stripe builds software tools that accelerate the economic and technological growth of global businesses by helping them operationalize their commercial relationships with customers. Our offerings include a billing platform, SaaS analytics, data services, and finance automation products that our customers creatively combine to support various revenue models.
At Stripe, product development is an extremely collaborative effort between engineering, design, analytics, partnerships, legal, risk and go-to-market teams. You’d be joining a group of experienced Engineering, Product Management, Strategy, and Operations leaders who have a track record of successfully building large-scale business and products that are collectively impacting millions of users around the world. We are looking for a senior Technical Program Manager who’s passionate about solving problems in the complex tax compliance landscape.
What you’ll do
As a TPM, you will play a key role leading complex programs across multiple engineering, product and cross-functional (finance, legal, compliance, risk, and other) teams spanning Stripe. You will be an active contributor to the overall strategy of the program, drive technical decision making, and drive the execution of the program through all phases from planning to delivery. You will have the opportunity to implement mechanisms that make your programs effective and scale them to edit Stripe-level processes.
You will:
- Drive functional and technical delivery of key team and org-wide programs/initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, scope, and shepherd features.
- Create functional specs, project / release plans, and roadmaps.
- Own and execute one or more software engineering programs simultaneously.
- Help drive product decisions to align with program and sometimes higher company initiatives.
- Help influence peers / managers and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity.
- Guide and manage the usage of agile methodologies to simplify project delivery.
You are a fit for this role if you have:
- 2+ years of experience in technical program/product management, software engineering, systems engineering or related discipline.
- Consistent track record of shipping products with broad/global customer impact.
- You have a track record of providing solid program management during all phases of software development from kick-off to ship, demonstrating critical thinking.
- You consistently deliver programs on time.
- Operate independently and lead efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines across time zones.
- Ability to understand how functionality comes together (across products and platforms) to deliver value for users, and identify/mitigate delivery risks proactively.
- Strong customer focus.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships, and collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrable experience with agile software development methodologies and productivity tools.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or a related field.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a global fintech or tax compliance organization of a global e-commerce company.
- Experience in large and dynamic digital marketplaces
It's not expected that any single candidate would have expertise across all of these areas—we're looking for candidates that are particularly strong in at least one area, and have some interest and capabilities in the others.
We look forward to hearing from you
At Stripe, we're looking for people with passion, grit, and integrity. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description. Your skills and passion will stand out—and set you apart—especially if your career has taken some extraordinary twists and turns. In-office expectations
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.
Pay and benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €60,300 - €90,500. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
