Essent N.V. is a Dutch energy company supplying electricity, gas, heat, and related energy services to consumers and businesses. It also supports customers with energy-transition solutions such as insulation, solar panels, heat pumps, and energy management.

Formed in 1999 through the merger of EDON and PNEM/Mega, Essent traces its operating heritage to 1909. The company is headquartered in ’s-Hertogenbosch and is part of the German energy group E.ON; its other consumer brands include Energiedirect and Vandebron.
