Details

As a Solutions Architect on Anthropic’s Startups Applied AI team, you will help founders and engineers build on the Claude Developer Platform as their companies grow from early product to scale. You will combine deep technical expertise with a builder-first mindset to architect innovative LLM solutions, support technical evaluations, and help startups maximize the value of Claude.

Responsibilities

Partner with Account Executives to understand startup requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout Claude adoption, from evaluation through deployment and expansion.
Lead technical evaluations demonstrating why Claude is an effective foundation for startup products, including helping customers develop evaluation frameworks for their specific use cases.
Build technical credibility with founders, founding engineers, and startup engineering teams by understanding their development patterns and guiding architecture decisions.
Gather insights into how startups build with Claude, identify emerging use cases and deployment patterns, and provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
Travel to customer sites, startup-focused events, and industry conferences for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder with founder-led sales experience.
Experience working with startups or high-growth technology companies.
Experience as a software engineer or technical founder, with the ability to earn the trust of technical founders and startup engineering teams.
Deep technical proficiency in building and scaling AI products, including knowledge of AI engineering best practices.
Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production.
Expertise in context engineering, evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architectures.
Strong technical communication skills and the ability to translate complex AI concepts into actionable insights.
A track record of selling technical products in competitive markets.
Comfort with Python and familiarity with common LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns.
Passion for making powerful technology safe and societally beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The field of study must be relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Compensation

Annual salary: £165,000–£190,000 GBP.
For sales roles, the stated range is the on-target earnings range, including target sales commissions or bonuses and annual base salary.

Work Policy and Logistics

Location: London, UK.
Hybrid policy: Staff are expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
