Join NVIDIA's global Developer Technology team, which drives innovation and enhances the value of NVIDIA platforms for developers. As an AI Developer Technology Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers accelerating the end-to-end performance of real-world deep learning and machine learning applications and developing algorithms to optimally leverage NVIDIA hardware. Application areas include large language models (LLMs), computer vision, speech, recommender systems, and multimodal architectures.
You will define and lead strategic technical initiatives, establish short- and long-term goals for your team, and work closely with customers, NVIDIA Research, and hardware and software teams to advance accelerated deep learning and machine learning. The team will optimize complex parallel algorithms and workloads across NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, and interconnects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team in optimizing and developing algorithms for machine learning and deep learning applications.
- Define and drive technical initiatives that advance accelerated deep learning and machine learning applications.
- Collaborate with research, hardware, and software teams to influence the design of next-generation hardware, software, and programming models.
- Develop and communicate technical solutions to external and internal collaborators, including technical design decisions and project plans.
- Hire talented engineers and promote a diverse, skilled team capable of tackling complex technical challenges.
- Coach and develop team members while promoting engineering excellence and the sharing of ideas.
- Plan and lead critical technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related computationally focused science or engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of overall relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a technical role and 3 years in an engineering leadership role.
- In-depth expertise in linear algebra and performance optimization for deep learning training and inference.
- Experience with parallel programming, such as CUDA, OpenMP, MPI, or pthreads.
- Programming fluency in C/C++, with a deep understanding of algorithms and software development.
- Knowledge of CPU and GPU architecture fundamentals and low-level performance optimization.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- A proven record of planning and leading critical initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field.
- Expertise in LLMs, multimodal model architectures, and performance optimization of relevant computational primitives.
- Proven experience recruiting top talent.
