Details

NVIDIA is looking for an Engineering Technician to support GPU and compute infrastructure in a hardware lab. You will work with hardware, firmware, software, and engineering teams to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and validate GPU-accelerated computing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain GPU and compute infrastructure in a hardware lab.
  • Coordinate rack shipments, receiving, placement, and installation, including power, cooling, and network connections.
  • Troubleshoot system issues across hardware, firmware, and software; investigate root causes and coordinate corrective actions with engineering teams.
  • Service systems by replacing components, cables, and compute trays.
  • Manage system and rack enrollment, configuration, and removal through cluster management and provisioning software such as NVIDIA Base Command Manager (BCM) or NVIDIA Infra Controller (NICo).
  • Perform firmware and software updates, verify system configurations, and run diagnostics and system health checks before releasing hardware to engineering teams.
  • Develop scripts and automation for routine maintenance, diagnostics, configuration checks, and inventory tracking.
  • Maintain accurate hardware inventory, IP address reservations, and connectivity records.
  • Document procedures and share knowledge with team members.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on site in a hardware lab environment five days per week.
  • Associate degree in electronics, computer technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a technician capacity.
  • Hands-on experience operating, servicing, and troubleshooting server or datacenter infrastructure, including GPU-based systems.
  • Ability to investigate hardware, firmware, and software failures, collect diagnostic evidence, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with x86 and Arm server architectures, GPU hardware, and common server components.
  • Comfort using Linux command-line tools for system diagnostics, firmware updates, and configuration management.
  • Experience with hardware provisioning and cluster management tools.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or automation tools for reducing repetitive tasks and improving operational consistency.
  • Familiarity with rack power, cooling, network cabling, IP addressing, and safe hardware handling.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining inventory, configuration records, and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pre-production GPU platforms, high-density racks, or liquid-cooled systems.
  • Experience automating system provisioning, health checks, firmware updates, or configuration management using Python, shell scripting, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Experience validating system readiness before engineering handoff and creating procedures or training materials to help others support the infrastructure.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary depends on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is USD 60,000–101,200 for Level 3 and USD 72,000–120,750 for Level 4. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications will be accepted at least until October 25, 2026. NVIDIA is committed to an inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer.
