Details
NVIDIA is looking for a Software Engineering Leader to join the NVIDIA Cumulus Linux Team. The role leads Cumulus Linux Release Engineering operations and owns tools and processes that improve developer productivity.
You will be part of the team developing the network operating system software that powers accelerated, disaggregated, and software-defined data centers for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. Cumulus Linux is a Debian-based distribution. You will lead a team of Software Engineers responsible for supporting and enhancing Cumulus Linux release software build infrastructure, packaging and installation, developer build environments, and other developer productivity tools. The role involves working with multifunctional engineering and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve engineering infrastructure services that support automated builds, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Maintain and enhance the Debian-based build environment, Makefiles, build scripts, and package repositories.
- Execute code scans and static and dynamic analysis, and publish actionable results.
- Partner with development and test teams to identify process improvements.
- Deliver Python-based full-stack tooling that increases engineering productivity.
- Build, operate, and evolve CI pipelines across software components.
- Scale engineering infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the Cumulus Linux research and development organization.
- Work with IT and NVIDIA DevOps teams to adopt best practices and deliver scalable infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years of proven experience managing Software Tools Engineering or Release Engineering teams.
- At least 10 years of overall experience in software configuration management, software tools administration, and related areas.
- Strong knowledge of build automation systems, software configuration management, and continuous integration systems such as Jenkins, GNU Make, Jira, and Git.
- Good understanding of Linux systems, the system boot process, kernel configuration, kernel modules, and package managers.
- Strong programming knowledge using Python, Perl, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with database applications such as MySQL.
- Passion for operations, including keeping systems running and resolving issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and global team.
- Desire to continuously grow and learn new skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with security features such as SELinux and Secure Boot.
- Good knowledge of software engineering practices.

The position includes equity and benefits in addition to the base salary. NVIDIA offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
The base salary range is USD 224,000–356,500 for Level 3 and USD 272,000–431,250 for Level 4. The base salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
