Details

NVIDIA Networking has been a leader in high-performance networking infrastructure for many years. The networking architecture team is developing the next generation of networking protocols for AI and accelerated computing.

The team develops RDMA transport protocols within NVIDIA's networking software architecture organization, including the infrastructure underlying RoCEv2, Multipath Reliable Connection (MRC), and NVIDIA Spectrum-X. These technologies support distributed AI training and inference, where efficient communication between GPUs directly affects end-to-end AI application performance.

Responsibilities

  • Research and propose novel transport mechanisms based on RDMA technology for AI systems using simulations, experiments, and proof-of-concept prototypes.
  • Architect frameworks for NVIDIA's programmable networking devices to support novel protocols.
  • Provide system-level architecture to guide NVIDIA customers in deploying and operating new protocols.
  • Collaborate across NVIDIA to co-design the software stack and exploit new transport mechanisms.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 12 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent C and C++ programming and debugging skills.
  • Research experience driving transport protocol innovations.
  • Deep understanding of RDMA.
  • Strong fundamentals in computing, network architecture, and operating systems.
  • Strong experience with Linux.
  • Ability and flexibility to work and communicate effectively in a multinational, multitime-zone corporate environment.

  • Expertise in related technologies and a passion for networking.
  • Experience with AI communication patterns and parallelization techniques.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of guiding and influencing others in a dynamic, multifunctional environment.

NVIDIA offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, and equity. The base salary depends on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

The base salary range is USD 224,000–356,500 for Level 5 and USD 272,000–431,250 for Level 6.
