Product Manager - Core Engineering (Security Features)

ClickHouse is focused on growing a vibrant user community and becoming a cloud-first company. We are looking for a Product Manager experienced in developing security features for ClickHouse. This is an opportunity to work with a popular open-source project to extend and deepen its core capabilities and develop cloud-native extensions for developers and data analysts across many use cases and market segments.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the real-time analytics and cloud database markets, competition, and technology trends.
• Engage with the ClickHouse open-source user community and ClickHouse Cloud customers to understand current and aspirational use cases for the ClickHouse core database.
• Distill and prioritize feature requests and issues into clear priorities for new capabilities and improvements.
• Work with engineering teams to scope and refine solutions to customer problems in both the core database and ClickHouse Cloud offerings.
• Set measurable goals around customer success and use data-driven approaches to ensure new capabilities meet customer needs.
• Monitor the market and competitive landscape to identify features and improvements that align with the roadmap and requests from the community and customers.
• Work with partners to grow ClickHouse awareness and visibility.

Requirements

• Proven experience with database security principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of and passion for data engineering markets, including data warehousing, data analytics, security, and observability.
• A strong vision for the direction of these markets and what it takes to become a leader in this space.
• Previous experience with ClickHouse or a highly related OLAP technology at a deeply technical level.
• Previous experience with open-source projects, ideally as a product manager.
• Passion for building enterprise capabilities that are powerful yet easy to use.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
• Comfort working with ambiguity and adapting to evolving business needs.
• Ability and desire to work with customers or community members by providing technical guidance and support during proof-of-concept activities.

Bonus Points

• Previous contributions to open-source projects.
• Engineering experience, ideally with distributed or cloud systems in C++.
• Experience working effectively in a remote, global, distributed organization.
