Details

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Firmware Verification and Bringup Engineer to join its Memory Subsystem Team. The team develops products in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, visualization, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop bare-metal firmware for NVLINK-C2C, including firmware validation and silicon bring-up for NVIDIA products.
  • Collaborate on pre-silicon firmware development and testing to validate features.
  • Drive silicon bring-up, feature enablement, and silicon debugging.
  • Triage and resolve firmware issues observed during bring-up.
  • Debug hardware and firmware interaction issues, boot failures, training failures, and silicon issues; isolate root causes and drive fixes.
  • Develop and maintain automation and AI-assisted flows to improve firmware development and verification.
  • Work closely with system software, RTL design, design verification, emulation, and post-silicon teams.
  • Refine interface bring-up and validation strategies.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on embedded systems, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in low-level firmware design and verification in pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
  • Hands-on experience debugging bare-metal firmware in RTL, SystemVerilog, and UVM testbenches using Verdi or similar debugging tools, and correlating firmware execution with RTL behavior.
  • Excellent RTL and digital debugging skills, with coding experience in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with high-speed I/O interfaces and understanding of data structures.
  • Experience developing firmware with AI agents is beneficial.
  • Understanding of PC systems, Windows, and Linux.
  • Strong hands-on debugging skills and the ability to break problems down using first principles.
  • Ability to assume different responsibilities throughout the product lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated success guiding and influencing others in a complex environment.
  • Proven track record of leading chip bring-up activities.
