NVIDIA’s NVLink team is seeking a senior individual contributor to serve as Tech Lead for firmware and NVOS development in Santa Clara. The team develops the firmware and network operating system for NVLink, NVIDIA’s networking fabric for datacenter infrastructure. The role will spearhead development across Firmware and NVOS programs and collaborate with multiple development organizations to build and improve the next generation of NVLink software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development and implementation of features that enable customers to configure, install, and troubleshoot NVLink.
  • Serve as the point of contact and own the software development lifecycle for assigned programs, ensuring high-quality software deliveries.
  • Define technical direction, break down work, and establish the quality bar for NVLink features from conception through production as a hands-on individual contributor.
  • Collaborate with product, test, applications engineering, production and manufacturing, and partner engineering teams to translate customer issues into product solutions.
  • Implement application flows that build on NVIDIA’s networking fabric and support core cloud service provider customers.
  • Establish guidelines for evaluation, observability, and continuous improvement of networking infrastructure from manufacturing through production networks.
  • Promote the adoption of AI in software development, testing, and across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • More than 12 years of direct software development experience, including substantial responsibility for complex, customer-facing systems or platforms.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead, engineering manager, or architect for significant features or products involving networking and datacenter infrastructure, with clear ownership of goals and execution.
  • Strong networking expertise, including developing or leading firmware and/or operating system development for network infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across teams while remaining an individual contributor.
  • Strong hands-on development experience with embedded C/C++ and Python.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an engineering manager or technical lead driving end-to-end networking projects.
  • Experience developing embedded, RTOS, and SDK workflows for networking infrastructure.
  • Contributions to internal or open-source networking frameworks, operating systems, or tooling, or experience driving engineering methodologies.
  • A demonstrated history of mentoring senior engineers and improving engineering standards for building, code quality, and reliability.
  • Experience technical-leading engineering efforts across multiple teams.
