Details
At Coinbase you will work on the Consumer Payments team within the Consumer Product Group, owning infrastructure, experiences, and controls that power how millions of users send, receive, and move crypto. This is a remote-first role (US) with quarterly in-person working sessions called “surges.”
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end frontend development for core crypto money-movement experiences (send, receive, transaction status tracking) across web and mobile.
- Drive measurable improvements in core user journey (CUJ) latency, availability, and SLOs for payment flows you own.
- Build new user-facing features such as contact management systems and real-time transaction status trackers.
- Partner with product, design, and backend engineering to scope, prioritize, and ship projects that reduce customer contact rates and improve CX.
- Identify and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks to reduce end-to-end latency and improve reliability at scale.
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a senior technical voice on a mixed-level team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in React and React Native.
- Proven track record of shipping consumer-facing products end-to-end in high-scale environments, focusing on performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Experience owning SLOs and driving measurable improvements in latency and availability for user-facing flows.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and operate as a senior technical voice.
- Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus): $186,065 — $218,900 USD (base varies by location).
- Total compensation may include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
