Role description

Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) conducts in-depth research on small and midsize companies to help stock and bond investors evaluate companies. BI research combines written analysis with interactive charting and analytics created from company-reported data as well as industry and government data.

BI research analysts review, check, and curate data into comprehensive and logically arranged dashboards to support their own research and to provide Bloomberg Terminal users a platform to view and analyze the data.

BI is looking for a highly motivated research analyst focusing on the technology sector. Coverage includes generative AI, cybersecurity, quantum computing, robotics, drones, and autonomous driving. A good understanding of LLMs and datacenters would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leverage knowledge of technology companies to actively create industry and company investment research on a regular basis.
• Build bottom-up financial models using Bloomberg data for company primer initiation.
• Monitor, interpret, and react to major company developments; identify macro themes and trends affecting investments in the region.
• Work closely with the global Tech coverage manager to coordinate and collaborate on analysis.
• Develop and maintain relationships with investors, industry and market professionals, investor relations personnel, and senior management at target companies.
• Participate in and initiate marketing events such as webinars, round-tables, and conferences to commercialize research ideas.
• Work with Global Data teams to ensure data completeness and quality control for existing and new data sets of target companies.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with an advanced degree in a technology area.
• Experience interpreting financial statements and financial modelling.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance financial analysis, earnings review, document synthesis, or thematic research.
• Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of finance and accounting.
• Exceptional primary research and writing skills.
• Self-starter, independent thinker, and collaborative team player.
• Strong organization skills; capable of handling multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency in both spoken and written English and other Asian languages for regional and China market coverage.
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.
