Details

Join a multidisciplinary team building and improving GPU- and CPU-accelerated software libraries. Projects including nvComp, NPP, nvJPEG, nvJPEG2000, nvTIFF, and nvImageCodec support AI, data analytics, image processing, computer vision, and scientific simulation workflows for commercial and academic organizations worldwide.

The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing advanced algorithms for accelerated computing and other computing domains.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable library software using modern tools and languages for numerical methods.
  • Tune performance, optimize algorithms, and benchmark implementations across various architectures.
  • Work with product management and internal and external partners to understand feature and performance requirements.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps for software libraries.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to library engineers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve library performance and abstractions.
  • Re-architect code to reduce maintenance costs.

Requirements

  • PhD or master's degree in Computational Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related science or engineering field, or equivalent experience; preferred.
  • At least 12 years of experience developing, debugging, and optimizing high-performance parallel numerical applications on modern computing platforms.
  • Experience with GPU acceleration using CUDA.
  • Excellent C and C++ programming and software design skills.
  • Proven experience leading and completing software development projects.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CPU and/or GPU hardware architecture.
  • Experience adopting and advancing software development practices such as CI/CD.
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA.
  • Experience working in a globally distributed organization.
  • Advanced debugging, profiling, and testing skills for accuracy and performance.
  • Experience with a scripting language, preferably Python.
