Details

Reddit is seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Feed Relevance, to drive the development of GenAI-powered recommendations. The role will leverage Reddit’s community landscape, conversational data, and engagement patterns to shape architectures for feed ranking and personalization at large scale.

Responsibilities

Deliver technical initiatives with significant company-wide impact.
Set technical direction for the broader Relevance and Feeds teams, identifying opportunities and influencing strategy across multiple organizations.
Work with management on goal setting, planning, and de-risking critical projects.
Mentor and grow Senior and Staff engineers.
Create a strong, healthy engineering culture.

Requirements

10+ years of industry experience building systems for relevance-driven products.
Subject matter expertise in relevance, recommendation, and machine learning systems, with the ability to solve highly complex problems in these domains.
Deep understanding of building sustainable software systems within a large-scale engineering organization.
Experience influencing organizations on technical direction and best practices.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including design, product, business, and data teams, to deliver high-quality user experiences.
Strong focus on user experience, usability, scalability, reliability, and quality.
Strong user advocacy and intuition for how people and machines interact with software at scale.
High empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to find compromise across the engineering organization.

Compensation

The base salary range is $266,000–$372,400 USD. The role may also be eligible for equity and, depending on the position offered, commission. Final offers depend on factors including skills, depth of experience, and relevant licenses or credentials.
