Details
NVIDIA is looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and technologically savvy engineers to join the Tegra Core Firmware team. The team architects and develops boot stack firmware for flagship Tegra chipsets used in high-compute platforms for automotive, data center, and other critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Build robust features for Tegra core boot firmware under the V-model established by safety and security standards.
- Define, decompose, and verify functional and safety requirements and architecture.
- Perform failure analysis, including FMEA and DFA, on bootloader functionality and architecture.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering partners.
- Validate and verify features on pre-silicon simulation platforms before tapeout.
- Perform silicon verification, feature development, and post-silicon support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience in low-level boot firmware development, particularly ARM technologies and programming; bare-metal experience is an additional plus.
- Excellent C and Python programming and debugging skills.
- Detailed and extensive experience with Linux kernel software.
- Experience with automotive software development and verification processes under the V-model is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and planning skills.
- Good understanding of hardware architecture.
- Good understanding of automotive functional safety and security standards and their application in semiconductor projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for building new technologies.
- Out-of-the-box thinking.
- Ability to articulate thoughts succinctly.
- Experience working with AI tools such as Codex and creating agentic AI tools.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range is USD 152,000–241,500 for Level 3 and USD 184,000–287,500 for Level 4. Compensation is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
