This role works with engineering and product leaders to plan and execute programs that develop and publish software enabling new enterprise systems supporting AI applications across academic institutions, startups, and industry.

The role oversees the end-to-end release management process, ensuring smooth, timely, and high-quality software releases from design through full production deployment at scale. You will coordinate release activities across multiple teams, align incremental software improvements with larger production release cycles, and partner with engineering, QA, product management, and operations teams to plan, track, and implement release objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across product and engineering teams spanning the entire stack to ensure release readiness and successful delivery of enterprise software.
  • Manage software branching strategies, including feature, release, and hotfix branches, to support integration, version control, and timely delivery.
  • Assess release readiness, anticipate risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop program schedules and KPIs to measure release health, predictability, and achievements.
  • Communicate program status and key issues to senior leadership.
  • Build or enhance automation scripts, dashboards, and tools to streamline release management and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Work with Engineering and QA teams on test plans, execution, reviews, failure analysis, and overall quality and risk assessment.
  • Work with Customer Program Managers to track and resolve software issues, incorporating technical feedback from cloud service providers and OEMs.
  • Identify failures, lead retrospective analysis, and develop improvement action plans.
  • Continuously improve release management processes, including scheduling, version control, deployment procedures, post-release validation, workflows, and approvals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in software program or release management in technology or related fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of software engineering and software life cycle principles.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically and build consensus to make programs successful.
  • Strong solution-focused skills and a record of implementing systematic solutions.
  • Experience influencing decisions and leading teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Enthusiasm for identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with boards and servers in the datacenter space or with productizing enterprise server systems while coordinating activities between hardware and software organizations.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles and enterprise system architecture.
  • Skill in modern programming languages and practical familiarity with efficiency tools and process automation.
  • Experience with open-source software profiling and vulnerability resolution using tools such as Black Duck or Palamida.
  • Previous QA experience, providing insight into release validation and quality assurance processes.
