Details

GitLab is looking for a strategic, data-driven owner for about.gitlab.com, the site where developers, platform teams, and enterprise buyers first meet GitLab. The role is responsible for setting the site's direction and orchestrating work across marketing, design, content, product marketing, analytics, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build a performance-based strategy and quarterly roadmap for about.gitlab.com, tied to pipeline and self-serve trial goals.
  • Align Marketing leadership and partners around the website strategy.
  • Set the experimentation roadmap based on business goals and manage the optimization program in partnership with User Experience Design.
  • Own launch page production for major product launches and events, including the calendar, brief, launch readiness, and post-launch cleanup.
  • Set direction for information architecture and content governance to keep the site coherent, on brand, and easy for search engines and artificial intelligence answer engines to understand.
  • Represent content contributors on the content management system roadmap and bring AI into their workflows with clear guardrails for human review.
  • Build a two-way partnership with localization content managers so learnings flow between English and localized sites.
  • Define success metrics, including conversion on key paths, site-sourced pipeline, test velocity and win rate, and on-time launches.
  • Report progress to Marketing leadership.
  • Lead through a dedicated team of specialists in UX design, technical SEO, AEO, marketing analytics, content, paid media, and campaigns, while partnering with Marketing Engineering.

Requirements

  • Experience owning strategy for a high-traffic business-to-business software-as-a-service website, ideally with many audiences and contributors.
  • A track record of setting an experimentation roadmap and running a program that delivered measurable conversion or pipeline lift.
  • Experience running website launches across design, content, product marketing, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to turn analytics, research, and A/B test results into clear priorities.
  • Ability to lead through influence and build credibility with designers, engineers, and marketers.
  • Technical fluency with modern websites and content management systems, sufficient to make tradeoffs with engineers; production coding experience is not required.
  • Curiosity about AI and experience using it to improve content or web workflows.
  • Clear, concise asynchronous writing skills and the ability to thrive in GitLab's all-remote, handbook-first culture.
  • Bonus experience includes marketing to developers, running localized sites, and working with technical search engine optimization and answer engine optimization.

Benefits

  • Benefits supporting health, finances, and well-being
  • Flexible paid time off
  • Team member resource groups
  • Equity compensation and employee stock purchase plan
  • Growth and development fund
  • Parental leave

The role is remote. GitLab hires in countries around the world, and some roles may have specific location-based eligibility requirements.
