Requirements

  • Experience building AI products and a working intuition for their capabilities and limitations.
  • A strong technical track record building and shipping enterprise- or government-grade products.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, including partnering with sales, legal, research, and policy teams.
  • 8+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend software engineer preferred.
  • Startup experience, particularly scaling products from zero to one, preferred.
  • Experience partnering with sales, customer success, and professional services teams to drive product adoption preferred.
  • Experience deploying software on government networks preferred.
  • Active federal security clearance at the Secret level or above preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship verification is required due to citizenship-based legal restrictions related to government agency customers.
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Required field of study: A field relevant to the role, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $405,000–$485,000 USD.

  • Immigration lawyer support for visa applications.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Optional equity donation matching.
  • Generous vacation and parental leave.
  • Flexible working hours.

Work Policy

The role is remote-friendly in the United States. Anthropic currently expects all staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
