Details

The DeepMap team at NVIDIA is delivering one of the fundamental technologies for the autonomous software stack and beyond. The team works on data collection, data analysis, map creation and map consumption software components for NVIDIA driving/mobile platforms and backend processing systems. The team provides algorithms to analyze spatial and temporal properties of GPS/IMU sensor data, tools to analyze lidar/camera/radar data, tools to store and upload large amounts of sensor data for map creation, and software to access and visualize 2D navigational maps and 3D HDMaps for experiments and benchmarking.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on algorithms and techniques to do trajectory data mining and road network topology and geometry analysis.
  • Build proof-of-concept tools to enhance the NVMap map building pipeline using researched techniques.
  • Perform data analysis and data preparation to benchmark researched topics.

Requirements

  • MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficient in C/C++ and familiar with Python.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and computer networking fundamentals.
  • Strong background in algorithms (e.g., graph theory, combinatorial & discrete algorithms), data structures, and basic statistics.

Ways to stand out from the crowd

  • Experience with computer vision, computational geometry, robotics, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Good understanding of Linux kernel internals and device drivers.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle or robotics sensors (e.g., camera, lidar, radar, GPS).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (USD): Level 2: 124,000 – 195,500; Level 3: 152,000 – 241,500.
  • Eligible for equity and company benefits (link provided in original posting).

Additional information

  • Applications accepted at least until July 14, 2026.
  • This posting is for an existing vacancy.
