Details
NVIDIA is looking for a software engineering manager for its Windows display driver team. The team develops software responsible for delivering GPU-rendered images to gaming monitors, laptop displays, TVs, medical displays, and other screens across consumer and professional markets. Its work includes display standards and technologies such as DisplayPort, HDMI, HDR, virtual reality, and variable refresh rate, while ensuring interoperability with operating systems and display manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5–10 system software engineers developing new features and providing general support for GPU device drivers.
- Balance priorities among end users, partners, operating system requirements, and chip bring-up requirements.
- Develop ambitious but realistic engineering plans aligned with those priorities.
- Ensure accountability for engineering plan development and execution.
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of high-quality, robust kernel-mode device drivers.
- Coach engineers to improve their technical and leadership skills and help them identify and achieve career goals.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, QA, marketing, and release-planning teams to solve problems, release quality products, and influence GPU and system-on-chip direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of experience developing system software or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience managing software developers.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- A consistent record of leading software projects with interrelated dependencies in a dynamic development environment.
- Low-level operating system knowledge.
- Familiarity with development on prototype hardware.
- Experience with memory and resource management in real-time systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of display subsystems, standards, and technologies, including HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, colorimetry, HDR, variable refresh rate, and video processing.
- Experience with Windows device driver development and the Windows display pipeline.
- Experience with chip verification and bring-up.
- NVIDIA GPU programming experience.
Benefits
- Base salary range of $224,000–$356,500 USD for Level 3.
- Base salary range of $272,000–$431,250 USD for Level 4.

- Salary is determined based on location, experience, and compensation of employees in similar positions.
