Details

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Architect to join Beneficial Deployments and help public health, global health, and humanitarian organizations derive value from Claude. The role serves as a technical lead for public health agencies, ministries of health, supporting institutes and NGOs, and humanitarian organizations working in crisis settings.

The position focuses on identifying high-impact use cases, including disease surveillance, outbreak response, health data analysis, communications, and program delivery. The architect will design solutions that fit partner data, privacy, security, governance, and procurement requirements, and help turn early pilots into lasting deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to a portfolio of health partners from discovery through deployment, translating priorities into scoped use cases with clear success measures.
  • Design and demonstrate solutions using Claude, the Claude API, Claude Science, and Claude Code across surveillance, outbreak response, data analysis, and public communications.
  • Guide partners through security reviews, data governance, and procurement processes, from national agencies to field operations.
  • Run workshops, training sessions, and tabletop exercises to build AI fluency across partner teams.
  • Build reusable assets, including reference designs, connectors, prompt templates, and evaluation templates.
  • Identify patterns across partners, share field insights with Product and Research, and help partners measure outcomes.
  • Travel to partner sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, sales engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or technical consulting.
  • Experience working with public health agencies, ministries of health, global health or humanitarian organizations, or similarly complex public institutions, including understanding how they buy, adopt, and govern technology.
  • A track record of making technology successful inside slow-moving organizations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs and prototyping working demos; production coding experience is not required.
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to epidemiologists, program leads, field teams, and executives.
  • Patience with long buying cycles and the ability to help them progress effectively.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, bringing clarity to unclear problems, wearing multiple hats, and taking action to further the mission.
  • Experience with disease surveillance, outbreak response, health information systems, or emergency operations is a bonus.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A field of study relevant to the role, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Benefits

Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office spaces for collaboration. Anthropic sponsors visas and states that it will make every reasonable effort to obtain a visa for candidates who receive an offer, although sponsorship is not guaranteed for every role or candidate.

The role follows a location-based hybrid policy. Staff are currently expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more office attendance.
