About Glean

Glean is the Work AI platform that helps everyone work smarter with AI. What began as the industry’s most advanced enterprise search has evolved into a full-scale Work AI ecosystem, powering intelligent Search, an AI Assistant, and scalable AI agents on one secure, open platform.

With over 100 enterprise SaaS connectors, flexible LLM choice, and robust APIs, Glean gives organizations the infrastructure to govern, scale, and customize AI across their entire business—without vendor lock-in or costly implementation cycles.

About the Role

Glean is seeking a talented Resident Solutions Architect to join our rapidly expanding, venture-backed startup. In this role, you will serve as the strategic technical advisor for a small set of Glean’s most important Enterprise and Strategic customers, where architecture, integration, governance, and production-readiness demands are high.

You will act as the named technical owner for each account, guiding long-term architecture decisions, shaping advanced workflows into production, and aligning technical plans to measurable customer outcomes. This is the strategic technical layer in the engagement team—not a reactive support role or generic project coordination role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic technical advisor and point of contact for assigned customers, operating as the technical counterpart to the customer relationship.
  • Own the technical account strategy for assigned customers, including quarterly technical roadmap reviews, technical operating reviews, and executive technical alignment.
  • Develop and maintain strategic technical roadmaps aligned to customer business objectives, implementation milestones, and measurable technical success criteria.
  • Lead technical decision-making and architecture review workshops, documenting recommendations, trade-offs, supported patterns, and ownership.
  • Guide customers through architecture, design, and implementation choices across connectors, MCP, actions, APIs, SDKs, custom UI embeds, and agent workflows.
  • Productionize advanced customer workflows by defining evals, governance, observability, guardrails, and production-readiness requirements before broad rollout.
  • Design and deliver, or lead the design and delivery of, strategic technical builds such as Skills, Actions, MCP servers, custom connectors, Web SDK integrations, Client API integrations, and embedded experiences.
  • Partner with Solutions Architects as the execution layer when scoped implementation work should be delegated, while remaining accountable for the overall technical direction and customer outcomes.
  • Provide technical enablement to customer admins, developers, and technical stakeholders so they can operate, extend, and support Glean effectively in their environment.
  • Align technical plans with Customer Success, AI Outcomes Managers, Account teams, Product, Engineering, and Support so the customer has one coherent technical narrative.
  • Translate recurring customer friction, deployment blockers, and enterprise requirements into engineering-ready product feedback with clear business impact and technical context.
  • Serve as a recognized advisor to executives, Product, and R&D on enterprise customer reality, solution design, and platform trade-offs for high-value customer motions.
  • Support customer governance and security motions, including reviews tied to identity, networking, data protection, observability, and enterprise rollout readiness.
  • Act as a steady technical point of contact for strategic customer initiatives, helping frame escalations correctly while keeping break/fix ownership with Support and other operational teams.
  • Own cross-account technical programs and reusable blueprints that improve how Glean delivers post-sales outcomes across customers.
  • Define and improve the RSA operating model, service packaging, and repeatable delivery patterns so strategic work scales cleanly across customers and teams.
  • Contribute to the Glean customer technical community by codifying repeatable patterns, playbooks, and artifacts for strategic accounts.
  • Shape the SA organization through mentorship, advanced enablement programs, and reusable guidance that raises the bar for strategic technical consulting.

Requirements

  • Clear communicator who can lead technical conversations with architects, admins, developers, security stakeholders, and executives.
  • Strategic and analytical ability to connect roadmap, architecture, governance, and production outcomes into a clear technical point of view, while evaluating trade-offs in ambiguous environments.
  • Customer-minded, organized, builder-oriented, and accountable with a track record of building trust, maintaining momentum, and owning technical outcomes even when execution is shared across teams.
  • Software development experience in at least two of the following: Python, Java, Go, or similarly relevant modern programming languages.
  • Strong experience with APIs, SDKs, custom data integrations, and enterprise application architecture in hybrid, SaaS, or on-prem environments.
  • Strong AI fluency beyond basic prompting: integrate AI into core workflows, build repeatable multi-step processes, and apply the right mix of agents, coding tools, and workflow automation.
  • Ability to shape technical patterns across Skills, agent workflows, MCP, custom actions, custom connectors, Web SDK, Client APIs, and embedded product experiences.
  • Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot responsibly to scaffold, refine, test, and debug technical solutions, while retaining ownership of architecture and implementation trade-offs.
  • Ability to architect end-to-end AI application patterns on Glean, including content ingestion, retrieval, grounded answer generation, and source-aware response design using APIs such as Indexing, Search, and Chat.
  • Strong technical debugging skills: log analysis, code analysis, end-to-end tracing, and structured troubleshooting across distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of networking: cloud and on-prem networking, private connectivity patterns, and enterprise security constraints.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies in at least one of the following: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
  • Security and audit fluency; ability to represent product architecture and controls with customer security, privacy, and audit stakeholders.
  • Experience defining production-readiness requirements for AI-powered workflows, including evals, observability, governance, reliability, and rollback or escalation paths.
  • Ability to evolve prototypes into enterprise-ready designs by addressing permissions, observability, rollout controls, scaling, security, and live debugging in real customer environments.
  • Think in terms of what is newly possible with AI and can turn that into reusable customer patterns, internal blueprints, or scaled service offerings.
  • Experience in at least two of the following disciplines: Software Engineering, Pre-Sales Engineering, Post-Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Support Engineering, Forward Deployment, or Solutions Architecture.
  • Strong executive communication, technical account management, architecture leadership, cross-functional influence, enablement, data-driven judgment, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Experience serving as the named technical owner for strategic or complex enterprise accounts.
  • Experience supporting architecture-heavy customers with requirements such as private networking, on-prem data sources, advanced governance, custom UI needs, or AI workflow productionization.
  • Experience moving customer AI use cases from workshop-quality prototypes to production-quality systems.
  • Pre-sales or post-sales Solutions Architect experience in a product-led company is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant technical consulting, solutions architecture, or customer-facing engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant experience.
