Details

Glean is seeking a Resident Solutions Architect to serve as the strategic technical advisor for a small set of important enterprise and strategic customers. The role owns technical account strategy, architecture decisions, integrations, governance, production readiness, and customer technical outcomes. This is a strategic technical role rather than a reactive support or generic project coordination position.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic technical advisor and point of contact for assigned customers.
  • Own technical account strategies, including quarterly technical roadmap reviews, technical operating reviews, and executive technical alignment.
  • Develop technical roadmaps aligned with customer objectives, implementation milestones, and measurable success criteria.
  • Lead architecture review workshops and document recommendations, trade-offs, supported patterns, and ownership.
  • Guide customers through architecture, design, and implementation choices involving connectors, MCP, actions, APIs, SDKs, custom UI embeds, and agent workflows.
  • Productionize advanced customer workflows by defining evaluations, governance, observability, guardrails, and production-readiness requirements.
  • Design and deliver, or lead the design and delivery of, strategic technical builds such as Skills, Actions, MCP servers, custom connectors, Web SDK integrations, Client API integrations, and embedded experiences.
  • Partner with Solutions Architects on delegated implementation work while retaining accountability for technical direction and customer outcomes.
  • Provide technical enablement to customer administrators, developers, and technical stakeholders.
  • Align technical plans with Customer Success, AI Outcomes Managers, Account teams, Product, Engineering, and Support.
  • Translate customer friction, deployment blockers, and enterprise requirements into engineering-ready product feedback.
  • Advise executives, Product, and R&D on enterprise customer needs, solution design, and platform trade-offs.
  • Support governance and security activities involving identity, networking, data protection, observability, and enterprise rollout readiness.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for strategic customer initiatives and correctly frame escalations while leaving break/fix ownership with Support and operational teams.
  • Own cross-account technical programs and reusable blueprints that improve post-sales outcomes.
  • Define and improve the Resident Solutions Architect operating model, service packaging, and repeatable delivery patterns.
  • Create reusable patterns, playbooks, and artifacts for strategic accounts.
  • Shape the Solutions Architect organization through mentorship and advanced enablement programs.

Requirements

  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to lead technical discussions with architects, administrators, developers, security stakeholders, and executives.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to connect roadmaps, architecture, governance, and production outcomes.
  • Customer-focused, organized, builder-oriented, and accountable approach.
  • Software development experience in at least two of Python, Java, Go, or similarly relevant modern programming languages.
  • Strong experience with APIs, SDKs, custom data integrations, and enterprise application architecture in hybrid, SaaS, or on-premises environments.
  • Strong AI fluency, including integrating AI into core workflows, building repeatable multi-step processes, and applying agents, coding tools, and workflow automation.
  • Ability to shape technical patterns involving Skills, agent workflows, MCP, custom actions, custom connectors, Web SDK, Client APIs, and embedded product experiences.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot for scaffolding, refining, testing, and debugging technical solutions.
  • Ability to architect end-to-end AI application patterns involving content ingestion, retrieval, grounded answer generation, and source-aware responses using Glean Indexing, Search, and Chat APIs.
  • Strong debugging skills, including log analysis, code analysis, end-to-end tracing, and structured troubleshooting across distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of cloud and on-premises networking, private connectivity, and enterprise security constraints.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Security and audit fluency, including the ability to represent product architecture and controls to security, privacy, and audit stakeholders.
  • Experience defining production-readiness requirements for AI-powered workflows, including evaluations, observability, governance, reliability, and rollback or escalation paths.
  • Ability to evolve prototypes into enterprise-ready designs addressing permissions, observability, rollout controls, scaling, security, and live debugging.
  • Experience in at least two of Software Engineering, Pre-Sales Engineering, Post-Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Support Engineering, Forward Deployment, or Solutions Architecture.
  • Strong executive communication, technical account management, architecture leadership, cross-functional influence, enablement, data-driven judgment, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Experience serving as the named technical owner for strategic or complex enterprise accounts.
  • Experience supporting architecture-heavy customers with private networking, on-premises data sources, advanced governance, custom UI requirements, or AI workflow productionization.
  • Experience moving customer AI use cases from workshop prototypes to production-quality systems.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant technical consulting, solutions architecture, or customer-facing engineering experience, or a master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • The role requires candidates to be located in the United States Eastern, Central, or Western time zones.

Benefits

  • Standard OTE range of $170,000–$240,000 annually.
  • Compensation may include variable compensation, equity, and benefits depending on the role.
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Generous time-off policy.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Home office improvement stipend.
  • Annual education and wellness stipends.
  • Regular company events and daily healthy lunches.
  • Inclusive workplace commitment.
  • Interview process includes a brief AI-focused exercise or discussion.
